I have been meaning to start a blog for a while and I finally put it together! We just got back from Belize on Tuesday and Scott is in Dallas the rest of the week so I have some time.
We went to Belize with two other couples and we had a great time. We did have quite some adventures which make for some great memories. On one of the days, we decided to go cave tubing and zip lining so we booked it a day in advance. They told us we needed to be at the dock at 6am for pick up so you can imagine our excitement about waking up that early on vacation. That morning, it was quite stormy so we thought the company would cancel the trip, but it’s money to them so no such luck for us. We were silly enough to go thinking the rain wouldn’t be bad and it would clear up. Needless to say, it did not. In fact, the boat ride is supposed to be 2 hours and it was pouring so hard, our tour guide got lost because he could not see where he was going. Luckily, we all had raincoats but we were all soaked, soaked, soaked. Mariam was high on Dramamine and Elizabeth was in pain from drinking to many fluids before the boat took off and all I was just laughing to myself because we should have cancelled. However, when we finally got there, the rain did subside and the cave tubing was awesome. Scott and I really were amazed at the beautiful formations and the way the light came through in different parts of the cave was picture perfect. The zip lining was fun too but nothing compared to the one in Puerto Vallarta. All in all, it was quite an adventure. The best part (sarcastic) was when we got back at 6pm (yes, it was a 12 hour tour), we paid for the trip and the pricetag was a real shocker!! In any case, it was a trip I will not soon forget. We can’t wait to go back again. We just love our Belizean friend, Pany, and the water is gorgeous. It keeps us coming back again and again!
