Wow! I can’t believe a week has passed by already. Where does all the time go? I finally got “some” of our Cabo pictures added, but this has been an especially hectic week with my website businesses so I still have more to add. I’m so excited about the living room tour. I just loved going to see everyone’s kitchen on the tour last Friday. We are headed to Shiner this afternoon for the weekend so I’m going to try to see as many as I can before we leave.
For the living room tour, we have two. One is a little more formal and one is more casual. I really love where the formal living room is going, but we still need a rug to tie it all together. On the pictures, you can’t see the dining room, but it’s close by and it has proven very hard to find a rug that goes well with my Peshawar rug in the dining room. A nice rug is like a piece of art. It’s an investment and we just haven’t found the right fit for us.
The cool thing about this mirror is that it is a see-through mirror. When the TV is off, it’s just a mirror but when the TV is on, you see the TV. We normally watch TV only at night so there is no glare. When I watch it at lunch time, I have to close all the shutters:

Living Room 2:
Since Scott and I both work from home, you’ll find Scott’s office over in the back corner.

I just love that black speaker box in the corner (lol)! I don’t even know why we need it. The whole room is wired with speakers. I guess it is a “man” thing.

The bar area in Family Room 2:

I am so glad you shared your living areas today. I loved your kitchen best of all and couldn’t wait to see more. They are lovely! Can’t wait to see more. I love your style.
I think a sisal rug would be great in your living room; however, you might think it would be too casual. I think it would be an awesome contrast to the wood floors.
I love all the bright white! Also, you either have an amazing camera, a knack for photography…or both! Great photos!
Wowsers! You have a fabulous home, gorgeous. Living Room 1 is my fave! Thanks for sharing

WOW!!! I LOVE IT!!! Where did you get those 2 brown chairs in your living room? I live in the Houston area, so I will probably know the store….
Thanks!!!!
Yay for fellow Houstonites
The brown chairs are special ordered from Rowe, a furniture manufacturer. They have very similar style at Restoration Hardware. Rowe is one of their suppliers.
Actually, RH (Restoration Hardware) does NOT use Rowe as one of its manufacturers. They use primarily Mitchell Gold. I have several pieces throughout my home, and they’re all Mitchell Gold. In fact, you can go to MG’s website and see the pieces (w/ different names, of course).
Williams Sonoma Home, which I also shop a lot of, also uses Mitchell Gold. I purchased a beautiful nickel lamp from WSH, as well as a large 5-Panel mirror for my foyer, and they’re still available thru MG the last time I checked.
Aside from RH & WSH (for Mitchell Gold pieces), a wonderful and QUALITY made-in-the-usa custom furniture manufacturer to use is Lee Industries. I believe WSH uses them as well. I had two chairs made for my family room to go with my Maxwell Sofa from RH, and they are beautiful — and have lifetime warranties on frame and 10-year on fabric (I believe). You can also purchase using organic fabric.
I know this question hasn’t been asked, but I get it all the time when people come to my home — who manufactures RH paint (b/c they have such beautifully clean and soothing colors that all compliment one another). The rumor has always been Benjamin Moore, and this is not the case — never has been. RH uses a company called Rodda Paints and they manufacture the paint ONLY FOR RH. The formulas are proprietery and although you can have colors somewhat matched to their pallette, its the paint finish that is uniquely RH’s. I have all RH paints throughout my home and believe me, there is a difference.
Just thought you all might like to know.
Beautiful home. Beautiful style.
Hi,
Thanks for your post. We got our actual paint from the Benjamin Moore Store. I had a custom color made up from a previous color I used at our other house.
I was told by the actual manufacturer that the pieces from Rowe are at Restoration Hardware. It really didn’t matter to me because I loved the style and wanted custom fabric and they allowed that. I highly recommend their furniture. However, that being said, you can buy the exact pieces (those two chairs and the chairs I have on the back wall that have custom fabric) in the exact same design at RH. Rowe allows you to bring your own fabric which I did and they have lifetime warranties on everything as well. I will also check out Mitchell Gold pieces. When we move into our new home, I will be looking for more to add

you have the most beautiful house ever! i love it – great decorating skills too
Beautiful home! I love the round tables and is that also a round coffee table? It looks a little taller than average. I would love to know the manufacturer of these (if possible).
Thanks!
Thank you! Yes, that coffee table is round. The manufacturer is Stanley. We bought our pieces directly from them
I had such a hard time finding pieces that would work in that room.
Love, love, love these rooms! I am bookmarking these to show my husband! Beautiful!
Oh, thank you so much!
You’ve got the best light coming into your home. I’m loving your windows/window treatments and the contrast with your wood floors. It’s gorgeous.
GORGEOUS! I had to go back and look at your kitchen because I obviously missed that. LOVELY home!
What a gorgeous home! The speakers are definitely a man thing. They were Zach’s first priority in our new home. He insisted on the 7 speaker package even though they told us that the 5 speaker package would be more than plenty. Men…
Whoa, nice!!
Do you know what type of flooring you have? We are looking to go all hardwood (right now only our kitchen has it, and it’s a deeper shade than I prefer for the whole house). I’ve come across some darker bamboo that I like. Yours is the perfect shade. We have all white walls too.
Our wood floors are walnut. We had bamboo in our last house. I liked it as well!
Looks like these rooms came from a magazine. I don’t see any evidence that a child lives here.
Oh what a beautiful home you have ! It is just lovely !
Thanks for sharing.
I just love your house!!! I like the simplicity and I adore the TV!!!! You must say where you got it!
Amazing! I felt like I was looking at a magazine for costal homes or something! Can you decorate my house for me!? I can’t wait to see the rest of the house. I have to add you to my follow list. haha
I now see my living room as a hunk of junk! =)
Yours is one of my favorite homes on the tour – but I want to know how you keep that white sofa so clean with a toddler?
I love your color scheme and that tv/mirror is so cool! I’ve never heard of such a thing. You really have a great eye for decorating!
Your house is unbelievable! These look liek photos from a design magazine! Its beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful! Love the floors and the contrast with the light furniture!
OMG, your house is beautiful. It looks like a magazine.
I absolutely LOVE your house. I just got married in September, and when my husband and I started looking for a house and talking about furniture, we wanted the whole black and white theme for our living room. However, that changed, but I will have that one day! It is gorgeouse! You have a beautiful family as well!!
Your rooms look like they were taken from the pages of a magazine. So fresh and so beautiful!!

You have a GORGEOUS home! My husband is a custom home architect and designer and so many of your finishing touches are things I’d like to do in our next home! I love your style and all of your decorations too. Your little carved statues from Jamaica remind me of one we got from Hawaii! I look forward to seeing the rest of your home
