Last weekend one of my new friends, Kari, put together a playdate at a beautiful park here in Austin by the lake and J. Bell Photography came and took pictures of the kids for us. It’s a park I had never been to and is really well hidden and quite a hike to get to but so worth it. We had so much fun playing with friends, balls, bubbles, and doggies!
We didn’t get many pictures of Olivia because she was afraid of the photographer.

Meanwhile, this little princess was hamming it up for him:

Livy isn’t so sure here:

I’m so grateful for my new friends here in Austin. It can really be hard when you move to leave old friends. We don’t get to see our friends from Houston quite as often and that does make me sad. My first few months here was a little lonely but I forced myself to put myself out there to meet other mamas with small children and now our schedules are jam packed. The ladies I’ve met over the past few months here have been wonderful and such a supportive, fun group!

Made me smile! Lovely images.
Beautiful pictures! Quick question – how do you meet other mom friends? I’m in a similar situation and I’m not sure how to meet other moms? Did you find organized mommy groups, or just run into other moms and hit it off?
I met one of my groups of friends through Meetup.com. They are a small group of ladies in my neighborhood and we go on walks together, play Bunco, do ladies night, and have playdates.
So great that you have new mommy friends!!
And the photos are so cuteee
absolutely beautiful girls. I see Livy’s hair is growin!
Your girls are so adorable! Such beautiful eyes. Girls are the best. I have two as well. Blonde, blue eyes, grown into wonderful young women, my best friends in life.
That’s so wonderful to hear! That is my wish for my girls as well when they get older
Welcome to Austin! With 2 busy 2 1/2 year olds I am always searching for a new park to visit. Where abouts is this park…Lake Austin or Lake Travis? We live down the street from Lake Austin so I am hoping it is on I don’t know about and close by! Looking forward to hearing more about your house…we moved back into ours after adding a second floor and other renovations about 6 months ago. Whew…I can’t imagine building an entire house from ground up!
It’s called Commons Ford on Lake Austin. There are no playgrounds though. It’s more like a nature exploration with large open grounds for picnics and kicking balls, etc. next to a creek for fishing and lake with a dock.
I bet you are so relieved to be back in your home. Sometimes it seems like it can take forever
Thanks so much! We enjoy nature walks and picnics so we might check it out when the sun comes out again! Enjoy your vacation…I can’t wait to take one of those again!!!!
